In June of 2009 a team of students and adults from Great Bridge Baptist Church, Chesapeake, VA, went to Camp Chacauco Patate, Ecuador to help minister to children and the community with Missionaries Steve and Carol Thompson.

Sunday June 21st- Pictures from Richard of the trip to Ecuador and arrival at the beautiful camp.
10:03 pm- Hi Everyone! In beautiful Patate, Ecuador, at Campamento Bautista, Chacauco for the week. The volcano pics are especially beautiful upclose (five miles away from camp). The lava was beautiful last night as it had a rumbling in it's tummy.The work starts tomorrow! It has been a great trip so far and we actually begin our mission work tomorrow doing VBS in the morning and painting/light construction in the afternoon. Thanks for your prayers!

No updates yet today, please check back later. Something of interest for you while you wait- a light hearted video from M-Fuge camp Ecuador on "Cuy" or Guinea Pig, a local fast food. According to Cheryl Dixon; Richard and Wynn tasted it from a street vendor.

2:00PM- Info from Teresa who spoke with Richard. They are taking the midnight bus for a 3hr trip tonight to the Quito Airport. Their flight leaves at 6:30 am for Miami International Airport- landing at 11:35am. They have a layover till 6:55pm for their flight to Norfolk which lands at 9:15pm. Richard is trying to download some video from a talent show, but having trouble. We will have that for you at some point after they return on the website.- Nancy Green
Friday June 26th- posted at 8:43 am by Nancy- 2 hours ago via Richard- Bus ride from camp to Quito (midnight to 3:30 a.m.) and now waiting at the gate to board for Miami for a seven hour lay over until home in Norfolk at 9:15 p.m. tonight pending everything stays on time.
